This matte-effect finish makes the surface of the steel silky to the touch and gives greater depth to the Foster PVD colours. Before undergoing the PVD treatment, the surface of the steel is matted through a special micro-bead blasting process with ceramic spheres. Fumé stainless steel is only available in PVD finishes.
